FGC begins search for a new General Secretary

The General Secretary provides Spirit-grounded servant leadership to Friends General Conference (FGC). S/he articulates the organization's vision and mission, to both internal and external audiences. The General Secretary is the chief executive officer of FGC and is responsible for the effective management of all FGC's affairs.

FGC seeks an innovative Publications Manager

FGC is in the last stages of developing a transformational business plan for the Publications Program, which will utilize the capabilities of new publishing technology and the proliferation of Quaker writers to bring more Quaker voices into publication. The Publications Manager will implement and manage this small publishing business for Friends General Conference.  The position requires a motivated, entrepreneurial individual who brings experience and an understanding of the rapidly changing world of publishing to the work.  S/he will have an opportunity to set up a new business operation which will publish important Quaker ideas to assist in faith articulation, transmission and transformation while enabling important conversations to occur and new voices to be heard.

The Publications Manager will work closely with the Publications and Distribution Committee in finalizing the business plan and then implement the plan. The business model centers around establishing two streams of publications: in Stream One FGC will publish in a more traditional way to bring publications which will command a broad audience within and beyond Quakers.  In Stream Two FGC will establish a facilitated self-publishing channel grounded in Quaker process to assist more voices to be heard.  This is an exciting time for publishing and for Quakers, and this position offers an opportunity to build a visionary program that will assist Quakers in continuing to be publishers of Truth in the 21st century.  To see the full job description, go to http://www.fgcquaker.org/about-us/employment-internships/publications-manager.
